Reid Crowther traces its roots back to the original companies which formed part of the Reid Crowther group that began business in 1906 in Western Canada. Between 1986 and 1991 the business of Reid Crowther in Nigeria was undertaken through Reid Crowther International Ltd the company responsible for the initial Canadian aid program which Reid Crowther undertook for the Lagos State Water Corporation. Reid Crowther itself was first incorporated in Nigeria in 1991 and has continued to be active in Nigeria since that time. Over the years, since beginning business in Nigeria in 1986, the company has undertaken a variety of projects relating to utilities and infrastructure assignments in Nigeria. Over the twenty one years which Reid Crowther has been active in Nigeria (the company undertook its first CIDA program in Nigeria beginning in 1986), the revenues which have been handled by Reid Crowther Nigeria have exceeded $55 million. The company has stayed active in Nigeria through good times and bad times and has an excellent reputation for delivering on the projects which it undertakes.Today Reid Crowther Ltd is becoming a totally British/African company with the management team in Lagos making all the corporate decisions for business activities in Africa. Currently Reid Crowther maintains offices in the UK and Nigeria, the Nigeria head office is located in Victoria Island, Lagos, which is ideally placed located to service the needs of our oil sector and other client organisations with offices in Lagos. The office location and the company structuring enable Reid Crowther to respond very quickly to duty calls from our clients around the nation. In order to serve the needs of clients in the past Reid Crowther have simultaneously operated and maintained offices in Ikeja, Lagos; Abuja, Port Harcourt, Akure in Ondo State and Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State. We work closely with all our clients at Lagos Water Corporation we rented office space within the 5th Floor of Water Houuse. Reid Crowther also works closely with a number of other companies and organisations both in Nigeria and overseas, with full office resources available in the UK, North America and South Korea.Reid Crowther have a policy of ensuring that their local engineering and management staff have ample opportunity for training, often carried out in the UK, Switzerland or North America. Reid Crowther are very proud of their record in training engineering professionals by taking numerous first year to final year students from Universities throughout Nigeria for their industrial training and NYSC placements. It is our hope that we will be able to develop more young engineering professionals in the international arena, high level training is one thing that Reid Crowther is honoured to be part of. Reid Crowther now always endeavours (when practical) to carry out a high percentage of the work on local projects in Africa with local personnel, subject to suitably qualified and experienced personnel being available.
